OUR VISION

The Information Technology Academy is a career-oriented program geared towards technological literacy which uniquely prepares all students for success in post-secondary education, career, and life. Ensuring students are utilizing the most current and up-to-date hardware & software is achieved through continuing guidance of the InfoTech Steering Committee and business partners.

Provide an environment conducive to the development of professional communication skills.

Develop ability to read with speed and accuracy a variety of literary, political, informational, and technical works.

Develop ability to write effectively, informatively, persuasively, analytically, and creatively

Promote understanding of current hardware and software and successful acquisition of technical skills.

Treat classrooms as workplace laboratories where professional skills can be reinforced and practiced.

Nurture development of honesty, respect, compassion, hard work, and responsibility through rolemodeling, and a positive classroom environment reflective of these values.

Facilitate the importance of teamwork, with emphasis on group dynamics, cooperation, and communication.

Develop problem-solving skills in all disciplines, plus problem-posing skills: the development of a “critical consciousness” to be an active, intellectual participant in school and to affect changes in our lives and the world.

Instill confidence for self-improvement, foster the transformation from passive to active learner, promote the love of learning, and create an environment free of excuses.

Foster metacognitive abilities to discuss and write about personal and intellectual growth.
